Child-minding Service

Just because your kids come first doesn’t mean your fitness has to come last. That’s why Velocity Sports Lab offers a child-minding facility – a place where your kids can hang out while you achieve your fitness goals - up to 90 min of supervision per day. The child-minding facility is a fun place for children ages 3 months to 8 years. It’s a safe and supervised environment where your young ones can play while you exercise.

Mondays – Thursdays: 08h00 – 12h00 and 15h00 to 19h00
Fridays: 08h00 – 12h00 and 15h00 to 18h00
Saturday & Public Holidays: 08h00 – 12h00

Age Restriction

We cater for babies, toddlers and children from the age of 3 months up to 8 years. Please note that it may be potentially dangerous for children older than 8 years to play in the same environment where, typically the majority of children are younger toddlers and babies.

Exclusive to Members

For the benefit of your children, the facility is for the exclusive use of Velocity Sports Lab clients. Please note that parents will not be permitted to leave the Velocity Sports Lab Gym while their child is in the child-minding facility.

Dropping off your child

On arrival, parents will be asked to sign their child in by completing the daily register. You will be asked to specify exactly which areas of the gym you will be utilizing in case we need to locate you should your child be distressed or in the unlikely event of an emergency. A maximum time of 90 minutes will be permitted.

Nappies and Toilet Training

We are more than willing to change disposable nappies, however as the Velocity Sports Lab Gym will not be keeping a supply, you will need to bring a clean stock of nappies and all other toiletries required to change your child. This should be left in a labeled bag. If your child has only recently been toilet trained, a spare change of clothing is advised.

Orientating your child into a new environment

All children are different, whereas some settle into new surroundings straight away, others take time to adjust and settle down. This is only natural and we invite you to stay in our facility, especially during the first few visits.

Children who are ill will not be allowed in the child-minding area. It is not fair to put the health of the other children at risk.
